I count six volumes of Hit The Hay in my collection, but I am missing the
last one #7...The last couple are doubles too. Jerker moved to the US to go
to school in Nashville. He wanted to be close to American music, so he got a
tennis scholarship. I think he was here for a couple of years. Until
recently he returned nearly every year and traveled around seeing the US and
meeting bands. His first release came out in '94, that's the one that we're
all on. Chris' song is "Hard Again".

I think most of the tracks on these comps are exclusive. I know he asks for
two years. These are all generally great things, a really wide scope of
choice, from home recorded to pro stuff.

The bad news is these are all limited to 1000, so each one sold out really
quickly. I suppose you'd have to check the usual sources. The packaging one
each one is wonderful. Lots of photos of "americana" and good notes on all
the bands.

He just asked around to all his favorite bands to get tracks.

He's also done a couple volumes called Fireworks, which feature two songs
from each band, but come with simple covers. The Homeruns series is rare
tracks from power pop bands of the 70's.

you should at least go to www.soundasleeprecords.com for tracks listings and
such.

By the way, Jerker is a great chappie. We had him and his mum here for a
visit in the fall of '94. They just wanted to see everything and visit as
many states as they could. They were thrilled when our trip to Mt Rushmore
took us through three states in one day! Now with a family, he hasn't been
over for a while. But he's still mad about music and always seems to have
something in the works.

ok then?
