I agree about Flop and that song in particular. I'm not sure why Flop
ended, but after it did, Rustky would occasionally play around Seattle
with Pure Joy (the re-formed version of his pre-Flop band), and those
shows were usually really good. But I guess it's been over a year
since I've seen one of those. Since then, Rusty has played a lot of
smaller acoustic shows (often with the aforementioned John Ramberg and
Kurt Bloch) and was doing the drummer gig in Sgt. Major.
FWIW, Rusty in one of those guys who can play any instrument. It's
freaky how talented he is in that regard (and as a writer). And he's
one of those lefties who turns the right-handed strung guitar over and
plays it like that. It's impossible to tell what he's playing -- both
hands are doing some convoluted shit but pretty pop music comes out of
the thing.
