Well, I don't feel guilty admitting that I have great warm feelings
about Journey's "Lights".
A bunch of boys got the word on a girl's slumber party. So, we um....invited ourselves to it. I think the girls knew we were going to crash it.
Music was playing and the liquor cabinet was being raided. Leigh Langer asked me to dance to the afore-mentioned song. I was aghast. First of all, she was well....a girl. Second, Journey sounded absolutely putrid to my ears.
We started to dance and then it all hit me. She smelt good, felt good and voila', another phase of painful adolescence passed on by.
I will think of that exact discovering moment....."hey, girls are damned fine" every time I hear that song. It's a wonderful lifelong memory.
