Gene:
Hands down...the best place to browse/buy music is Amoeba in the
Haight-Ashbury
(corner of Haight and Stanyan). Streetlight Records on 24th is another fun
little
neighborhood shop with alot of cheap used stuff. SF Weekly and the Guardian
are
local rags with most of the music listings. You can usually count on Bottom
of the Hill
Cafe Du Nord (Oranger playing on the 24th, John Wesley Harding playing the
29th)
or Red Devil Lounge (Missing Persons playing here on the 27th!) for some
good,
intimate live music.
