A very nice recap by Steve. I probably would start with "TWWE" too. But as
Steve F. suggests, you won't go wrong with any Pernice Brothers disc (I say
that with confidence although I admit to not having heard the new one yet).
That's the real trouble for me in answering your question of "where to
start", is as the cliché goes....they are all great (only this time REALLY!
:) ). Not to mention he's a gifted lyrist, sometimes dark (see "In a Ditch"
from his Scud Mt Boy days.....brrrr). His voice is very distinct, it is sort
of hushed but lovely.
Josh, if they are coming to your neck of the woods, catch them live. I have
seen them three times now and have been very satisfied each time. They are a
band I hate to miss when they come to town (although I don't see Minneapolis
listed on their tour yet).
Finally, if you idea of fun is to watch a guy play a guitar with greatness
and with ease, then go and marvel at the skills of Peyton Pinkerton.
