Thought it started in the 80s? The Cars a prime example. Or 
maybe early XTC circa Barry Andrews '77-78. Or maybe Eno 
with Roxy Music's 1st album... :-)
I suppose it has something to do with the noo wave revival 
we are experiencing right now...
