One of my fave discoveries thi spast year has been the Hold Steady. Both of
their albums are available. I would sample them on iTunes, or someting
similar. It may be a love 'em or hate 'em experience. I'm in the former
camp. Difficult band to describe. The vocalist doesn't so much sing as he
sing-taks or talk-sings. Not a very good description, I know.

Also, the Oranges Band (RIYL: Spoon, Shins, etc.), Missile (straight forward
power pop), Mulehead (alt country), Greg Summerlin (RIYL: Matthew Sweet,
Freedy Johnston), The Quarter After (Grip Weeds- and SOOL-like popsike).
