Hey Auditeers!

Don't use this forum to announce NL stuff here but once or twice a year and
only a few find it interesting, quite possibly (bless you, all six of you!
drinks on me!). Help keep indie alive in 2005(it rhymes, it rhymes!)? Well,
go the Not Lame site and check out the new releases which are abundant of
late.

They are:

(out for three weeks now) The Supahip - Michael Carpenter's fantastic new
side project that is a work of creative genius (feedback from the few here
who have it? Good or bad? Seriously, both MC and I would love to gauge
folks' thoughts on this project.....really!! but hearing *nothing* is a
drag! This is Audities, home of insanely great pop, right? when did we stop
talking about indie power pop?!?! has anyone noticed?)

International Pop Overthrow - Volume 8 - 3 CD's, 65 songs and bands, $16.
Come on! whattsa matter for ya?!

The Toms - s/t - 2 CD reissue of the 1997 reissue of truly one of the most
classic indie power pop releases ever. Many here know this is a statement of
fact. Tell the world!

The Virginia Sisters - where on earth can you find a pub-rock/pop band in
2005? Right here...Graham Parker and Warren Zevon and early Costello all
over da place

Upcoming releases proving Not Lame will go under in a blaze of both
stupidity and inchoate musical glory....The Everyday Things and
(info/soundbites going up on the site next weeks), The Well Wishers(yeah!),
Pat Buchanan, True Love, Doug Powell and working on one or two
more....including a tribute to Buffalo Springfield and a new album from The
Toms "Simplicity". Oh yeah....in early 2005, The Dirty Looks' first album
with tons of bonus material!

Come on, listen to those soundbites. Over 'n out.

Btw, The Dirty Angels first album (avoid the self-titled second one on A&M
from '78, yuck) on Private Stock in 1976 is an incredibly strong
album,imho...not all of it, but 3/4 of it I listen to still, regularly. Big
Star-like? Whoever said that is clueless as to Big Star, but 1/2 of the
album is excellent power pop, the rest really good bar-rock of the mid 70's.
You could do worse than blow $3 on this in the vinyl bins, for sure. Ripe
for reissue. For all 300 of us who dig this! ;-P

Peace On,
Bruce
