if i had taken accordian lessons like my parents had wanted - my world
would be a lot different today...
being a musician/running a label... you try to not let the losses
destroy your life...
you're driven, like a gambler in many ways, that your lucky break is
around the corner...
you believe in the artists and the music you are championing - it
frustrates you that others
don't hear what you hear but still you beg and borrow, cajole and
connive, duck the creditors,
for one more roll of the dice...
the only commodity is your vision & to stay true to it... and to be
positive as the bridge behind
you collapses :)
there is no safety net...
anyway - trust me, I don't do it for the money because there is none
as for the accordian - come down to The Joint, Los Angeles, july 31,
for Bongo Beat Night.
My new best buddy Jason Frederick will be playing keyboards AND
accordian during my set.
