Hah I can't believe there's a flame war on Audities. Wow. Anyway, I
have my Bleu CD up for sale. I dunno. It's ok. I just don't listen to
it.
Lately I've been obsessed with the Lemonheads. If anyone out there
doesn't have Come On Feel the Lemonheads or It's a Shame About Ray
(and even Car Button Cloth) you should seriously pick these up.
Amazing Boston stuff.
I don't know why these songs GET to me. Evan Dando kinda sounds like
Pat DiNizio (Smithereens, for you younguns) sometimes, maybe. Haha.
What happened to the Lemonheads/Dando anyway? I know he went solo, but
cmon. He's such a good writer. Even with all the heroin and coke.
Can't wait for the 3 new Pat discs either. Whew.
Oh and among my favorite all-time band names are
Whorehouse of Representatives
Pubic Hairdo
and my current project is Crudslide. I'm insisting now that my music
is anti-capitalist, I know I have to put out money to make it, but I'm
sick of asking for money for it - and for shows - I don't like paying
for music unless it's REALLY good.
So with no exchange of money, there's no expectations. Plus, it's MY
hobby and passion, so I want to give it to people. Art shouldn't be a
commodity, I don't think. Maybe that will change. But I don't think
so. I'm pretty sick of trying and trying to get money for something
that I can completely understand why people might not pay for.
Anyway. Just my five cents on the whiny moneygrubbing musician thing. ;)
Oh and I saw a pre-screening of the new Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory last nite - it has the real Roald Dahl songs in it, and I
don't know why a couple reminded me of power pop. Hah.
