It seems that every MOJO, Q or Uncut contains a reference to them, so I imagine they are well known in the U.K., but I confess that I have never heard anything by them. From those British-mag references, I gather they are somewhat dance-oriented.

Not that you asked me, but being a big St. Etienne fan, I'd say start
with GOOD HUMOR, although there are other good choices as well. St. E is
sort of a hybrid of trip-hop and pure pop, with their best moments
coming off like a cross between Portishead and Burt Bacharach. Up the
same alley as Mono, some Hooverphonic, maybe Frou Frou?
Of course, their cover of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart"
from FOXBASE ALPHA is one of the coolest covers I ever heard....

You may have success in life, but then just think of it -
what kind of life was it? What good was it - you've
never done the thing you wanted to do in all your life.
I always tell my students, go where your body and
soul want to go. When you have the feeling, then stay
with it, and don't let anyone throw you off.
