I too saw a premiere of the film, but I saw the NYC viewing. The event
was part of CMJ and Don Was conducted a nice 45-minute or so Q&A before
the film. Then right after the film finished, Brian performed 6 songs.
His band consisted of Brian on grand piano, Paul Shaffer on keys,
Richard X Heyman on drums, Billy West and Jonathan/Andy Paley on
guitars, and Was on bass. Not a bad line up...

They played:
California Girls
Warmth of the Sun
God Only Knows
Do It Again (twice- once at regular speed and the other at 1/2 speed)
409

This was back in 1995 or so when no one knew if Brian was ever going to
perform in public again. He was a bit rusty, but sounded pretty good all
things considered.

I was at one of the premieres for the movie in San Francisco. Director
Don
Was was there -- and oddly enough, nobody seemed to pay him much
attention
-- but no Brian. Still, I agree that the movie is quite good and well
worth
finding.
