I just got back from a trip, one of the main reasons
was because Parallax Project had the middle slot
playing just before the New Pornographers in
Lancaster, PA. Not as big a crowd as Brooklyn, but a
decently packed Chameleon club nonetheless.
Neko Case was not performing with them on this tour,
but Carl Newman's niece took over the duties, and she
did a GREAT job. Stacy, I'm guessing you didn't even
notice the difference! If I closed my eyes, I didn't
miss Neko either.
Agreed that the new songs are just as good as previous
stuff. Because of my "connections" I was backstage
being an obnoxious fan girl and they are the NICEST
people, Todd Fancey even dug out a copy of his new
e.p. for me!! (check out FANCEY on March Records for a
more dancey, 70's pop vibe.)
Anyway, the new record will be great, the show here in
LA in September will be awesome and probably sold
out.(you can see why I flew to PA for this
show...didn't want to wait for September!) AND, who
says REALLY GOOD pop songcraft doesn't attract the
masses?
