Caught this no fewer than three times on MTV Hits last night.
I have no fundamental objection to her slaughtering the song. Bad cover
versions are a part of life. Hell, there are probably Gram Parson purists
who object to our version of "A Song for You."
What was odd for me was how bizarrely unsexual the video was, even though it
was obviously designed for maximum titillation
In her obvious efforts to be a hottie, Simpson seemed to have been reduced
to a caricature of sexiness.
Maybe I'm getting old, but it just left me cold, but give me Teri Hatcher as
Lois Lane any old time. There was at least a hint of mystery there. By
giving up the candy store (as it were), there's nothing left to find
attractive about Mizz Simpson.
