Pat Wilson's "Bop Girl" got some airplay on Tulsa radio and my college
radio station in 1984. In a era of silly new-wavey pop hits like OXO's
"Whirly Girl" its strange it never caught on in the USA.

One of my lost favorites from that time is Robin Gibb's "Boys Do Fall In
Love" - it packed a great hook despite stiff MIDI programming. I also
loved "Juliet" which I first heard on a SOTT CD by Alan Haber a few
years back. Dont know if that track was ever released in the USA.

I taped off a song called "Walk Around Uptown" off a R&B station in
1988, but I havent been able to find any artist info. It was a very
Prince-like ballad.

Another one hit wonder that I remember being a mid-charting hit, but
later became a huge favorite on internet 80's stations like Club 977 is
The Other Ones "Holiday" from 1987-8.

BTW: I never could find that One Way Records CD version of "Watts In A
Tank" by Diesel. I found on E-bay a Dutch import CD called (surprise!)
"Sausalito Summernight" on Rotation Records (aka Dutch Universal). It
has the complete "Watts In A Tank" album with both the single/album
versions of "Sausalito" and 4 bonus tracks. "Ook Verkrijgbaar!" (ad on
the insert of the Diesel CD sez that)
