Dear Bob,
I just signed up for Emusic and tried it out. There are a couple of issues.
Pro: all files are mp3 - can play on any platform
Con: only 30 second samples
Pro: you get 40 tracks for $9.95 a month
Con: they don't roll over at the end of the month - use it or lose it.
Pro: lots of indie music, some out of print stuff
Con: not much fringe-of-mainstream content
Trying Emusic made me that much more proud of Weed (www.weedshare.com)
Weed is Windows only for the moment, but has three full free plays, and the
music is sharable - you are encouraged to share the Weed files. You only pay
for what you want to keep and share, and there is an interesting spectrum of
music on Weed, including Roger Joseph Manning, Jr and Imperial Drag (see

Also can you chaps tell me about Emusic - is it worth using? Are there any
similar things out there which are as good or even better? (I did try
RealRhapsody but it only accepts subscription if from United States
residents, not for us over in the UK).
