Hey all...
The Classic Rock station here has remained intact, but the owners of that
station also piped in a "Jack" (off) station in an attempt to compete with
the only "local" station around. (owned by a long-time DJ who slaved for
others for many years before mortgaging his house and stepping into
ownership)
This station plays a "AAA" format...throwing in a lot of variety and
sometimes some surprises.
And hey, they let me have control of the station for an HOUR and I got to
play the Rosenbergs, DUNK, The Posies, Gladhands, etc...so I gotta say
they're good folks.
Heck...a few folks even called in while I was sitting there and said "This
is good stuff...keep it comin'"
It's a small enough market/local enough station, the let a local guy do a
jazz show, and there's the "One World" Reggae Hour each Wednesday...so I
mentioned that they need a power pop hour....
I need to follow up on that! That'd be too much fun.
Back to Jackin'...I'm amazed that the same songs can be played over and over
again, yet the push/promo of the station makes it sound like they've created
an entirely new catalog of music...
I'm with you, Eytan. I switched into this station...heard Bloato singing
"'cus I still haven't found what I'm looking for" IMMEDIATELY....and
thought..."ME EITHER!" CLICK.
You don't know jack, but somehow, you still know he sucks dog balls.
