Another one of my favorite mid-sixties recording
mistakes is the talking going on in the background in
"Here Today" by the Beach Boys.
Memories...
This reminds me of being in JR High and one of my friends had the
single "Everything is Beautiful" by Ray "Yes, they called him the
Streak" Stevens. A very maudlin song, I would venture to say.
Anyway, I swear, we listened to one moment in the song about 50 times
where there is this quiet moment but in the background you hear a
barely audible "F@ck!" in the mix.
We always wondered if this was intentional or not?
Now, I also wonder if we really heard this. Does this ring a bell for
anyone? We were drug free still at that time, I swear.
Maybe we were wrong and it wasn't "F@ck" that we heard. Could be Ray
was simply saying, "I suck". I dunno.
Any light shed to be shed on this vocal "mistake" or others
