The Stones flub that I think is most conspicuous is
Jagger's flattened "from" at the end of the first line
of "Ruby Tuesday", in which he tries to sing a note
that is obviously too low for his vocal range. I can
see how a singer could write a song that eludes his
ability to sing it properly. I'm just not sure why he
wouldn't correct it before it's pressed to vinyl and
released. Andrew Loog Oldham must've been asleep
behind the board during that session.
Another one of my favorite mid-sixties recording
mistakes is the talking going on in the background in
"Here Today" by the Beach Boys.
I agree with Larry. Mistakes, accidents, and
incidental noises are part of what gives pop music its
charm.
