While I was growing up, my Dad played in a local cover band (the nut doesn't fall far from the tree as I am following in his footsteps)... anyway - he always bought 7" singles to learn songs, we didn't have a lot of LPs. But when I was about 6, my folks bought me a little record player and "Cosmo's Factory" by CCR. I played that album zillions of times, and it still one of my all-time favorites.
Philadelphia AM radio was my thing when I was real little. WIBG and WFIL played all the hits, and I loved them.
Curiously, my folks only owned one Beatles album - Abbey Road. I made up for that in short order.
