I was crushed when my older brothers wouldn't take me to Kiss w/Cheap  
Trick in '76 or '77 - why a couple of high school guys didn't want to  
take a nine year old to the social event of the year is beyond me.  I  
didn't know who Cheap Trick was until my brother brought home "Heaven  
Tonight" a year or so later - it was  the coolest album cover I'd  
seen since "Dressed To Kill".

No one argued about music in the town I grew up in.  We were allowed  
to bring records to our junior high art class - and I had no  
competition - ever.  Other kids thought my music was weird - Police,  
Knack, Pink Floyd (Wall), Pretenders, Tom Petty - I was out there!
