I don't understand why a thread about the Stones has to lead to a bunch of
"What about the ... ?" posts. Honestly, I don't see how extolling the merits
(or lack thereof) of the Stones constitutes a putdown of the Kinks or the
Who.
For the record, I love all three bands. I love the Beatles, too. I don't see
anything mutually exclusive about their fan bases. Talking about the Stones
no more implicitly insults the Kinks or the Who than talking about Silver
Sun implicitly insults Admiral Twin or the Shazam.
As my dear mother used to say to us boys when we were in the midst of yet
another bout of sibling warfare, "You're all different, but I love you all
the same."
