The audio side of a dual disc is not technically a CD, since they don't 
follow audio CD standards (can't remember, is that Red Book?).  A number of CD 
player manufacturers have warned against using them in their players at this 
point. So the issue with not playing has to do with the format in which the data is 
encoded, and not the thickness or other physical attributes of the DF disc.  

I haven't heard of any cases in which a DF disc has damaged a player, just 
plenty of cases in which they won't play.
