I have read a few articles about some of the reasons for the Dual Disc.
The record companies are trying to get more folks to buy CDs, giving them
a little something "extra", but they also thought the Dual Disc might
prevent copying and posting on the net.
Many of the dual disc releases I have seen out on the internet, at
least a couple weeks prior to release, as well as the special DVD content
also posted.
So not only is it not preventing ripping and downloading, but they once
again alienate more of their customer base as the "special" discs
get stuck in car players, refuse to play on CD players at home etc.
What happened to releasing 2 discs like they did with The Bangles
and others?
Another masterstroke from the Music business.......
