To quote Mr. Segarini

"The World's Luckiest Bar Band"

...and I couldn't agree more.

Of course. Because any bar band in the world could've given us "Tell Me",
"The Last Time", "As Tears Go By", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Get Off
My Cloud", "I'm Free", "Mother's Little Helper", "19th Nervous Breakdown",
"Lady Jane", "All Sold Out", "Complicated", "Flight 505", "Paint It, Black",
"Stupid Girl", "I Am Waiting", "Miss Amanda Jones", "Yesterday's Papers",
"Out Of Time", "Under My Thumb", "Ruby Tuesday", "Let's Spend The Night
Together", "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?", "We
Love You", "2000 Light Years From Home", "She's A Rainbow", "Jumping Jack
Flash", "Sympathy For The Devil", "Street Fighting Man", "Stray Cat Blues",
"No Expectations", "Salt Of The Earth", "Honky Tonk Women", "Gimme Shelter",
"Let It Bleed", "You Can't Always Get What You Want", "Midnight Rambler",
"Brown Sugar", "Sister Morphine", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Moonlight
Mile", "Dead Flowers", "Rocks Off", "Rip This Joint", "Tumbling Dice",
"Happy", "Loving Cup", "All Down The Line", "Shine A Light", "Sweet
Virginia", "Dancing With Mr. D", "Angie", "Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)",
"Star Star", "It's Only Rock And Roll", "If You Can't Rock Me", "Hand Of
Fate", "Memory Motel", "Some Girls", "When The Whip Comes Down",
"Shattered", "Beast Of Burden", "Miss You", "Faraway Eyes", "Start Me Up",
"Hang Fire", "Waiting On A Friend", "Undercover Of The Night", "She Was
Hot", "One Hit To The Body", "Had It With You", "Winning Ugly", "Mixed
Emotions", "Love Is Strong", and "Saint Of Me", among others.

Piece of cake for a bar band.

Yeah, but their bar consists of Western Civilization (and a good chunk of
the East).

I'm in complete agreement that they're nothing more than a money-making
jukebox now, and if you've seen them once in a stadium, then there's no need
to cough up huge dollars to see them again unless you're a diehard fan. I've
heard prices for the Fenway Park show are $100-$500, for chrissakes.

But I saw them in '02 in NYC at Roseland, a standing-only ballroom that
holds about 2000 or so. Cost- $25. I was able to get about 20 feet away from
Keith, and to see them go full tilt that close in a room that small was
unbelievable, to say the least. No pyrotechnics or any of that stuff.

No yawns; in that setting, the greatest live act in the world.
And that includes Dublin's finest.

Thin Lizzy or the Boomtown Rats? ;-)
