Mike -The book 'Vinyl Junkies' profiles a bunch of different collectors and how and why they do what they do. Some of the stories are really funny.

Most of the Mono Man stories surround his obsession with owning the actual record, and the lengths he will go to get it. According to the book, he will not allow the Lyres to learn an old song unless he physically owns the record - a tape dub is not good enough. There is one section that details him scouring the globe hunting down a 45 , sending thousands of dollars in CASH to a foreign country, and then threatening an international incident when it is believed that his envelope has been misplaced or stolen. I won't spoil the outcome for you.

Best, Michael
