I've been thoroughly enjoying the debate about the Macca ticket prices -
and I guess it DOES come down to, "How much do I need to see this guy play
live?".
I think there does need to be a line drawn, however, between slightly
expensive tickets and ridiculously expensive tickets. A few have argued
that "the market decides" - but what market? As someone else pointed out,
at these prices, the market must consist of lawyers and doctors. Maybe
that's the name of the game, lets charge some wealthy folks through the
nose - they can easily afford it and won't miss the money. But it there
definitely seems to be a whiff of rampant profiteering in the air, in my
opinion. Most worrying was the comment from one Auditeer who never
realised the price until after they'd bought the ticket - I bet Macca
wishes they'd charged $3,500 instead of just $350 in that instance.
