I recall that my tickets for both Paul McCartney (Twice! April / May 2002) and Simon & Garfunkel (November 2003) were on the expensive side but the experience will most likely never be topped by any other concert performance for the rest of my life.  
 
I've posted on this list in the past at just how lucky most of you are that you have so many shows roll into your town.  Where I live it is very quiet most of the time which is why I ended up going to see these shows by catching a plane that pretty much matched the ticket price.  Factor in the hotel and car and it is an eye opener on the wallet but it boiled down to my choice and I'm glad that I did it.
