Pshaww John... That's the beauty of discussion... there's no ill feelings...
altho' I have perceived a notion of some type of negative vibes on behalf of
others since the discussion started... And yes, you're right... prices could
be a bit more reasonable... But I have to believe that these shows are not
just "for the rich and able" who can afford the tickets... heck.. You
should've seen the look on my wife's face when I told her that I'd just
invested $283 dollars on two tickets... In order for us to pull this off it
was credit-card time and hopefully a plan to pay it off asap to avoid
excessive interest charges...
Again, I also have to believe that the financial logistics of putting
together a show with the magnitude of a McCartney presentation has to run a
hefty bill... Venue, salaries (all inclusive... band, techies, you name
it)... accomodations, transportation... A profit? Of course there's one (and
a pretty decent one I might assume) but hey it's the capitalistic system of
free enterprise and that's just the way the cookie rocks for some... But in
the end I just know that the bills McCartney (and other big acts) pay at the
end of the day have got to be humonguous... Perhaps someone out there with
more knowledge on this subject might enlighten and it would make for
interesting reading on the subject....
Word is that the sound & light show that Macca & his troupe is bringing on
this time is a dazzler... so again... yes there is a valid point with the
high cost of ticket prices but without knowing how much expensive is also
involved I think it might be a bit unfair to the artist to immediately label
them as money-grubbers (which you DID NOT ... but there has been some
implications made by others)...
Let's all make up and lift up our arms and as we sway them side to side...
sing... Kumba-ya My Lord; Kumba ya.... You get the picture ;-)
