I never thought I'd spend that much money to see anyone, but I know the excitement on my daughter's face will make it worth the while.
And this is how I am rationalizing it wallet-wise... one of the places I regularly play has asked me to come in and play a Happy Hour gig for two hours on an upcoming Friday, then come back and play a regular night-time gig later that evening. I will get paid enough that night to cover my three Paul tickets and parking. I couldn't pull off going to the McCartney show without doing something like this.
Then again, I told Mark Eichelberger that I was selling his Elton John box set to help raise the funds. ;-)
I'm treating this as a once-in-a-lifetime thing and the fact that my daughter is so excited makes it worth it to me.
