Me: The Ravonettes @ First Ave (I know it's my own fault that I live
in

Ø	right?)

Stewart: Not really, they've been around a few years now. (It's the
Raveonettes, btw, as in the Buddy Holly song.) They're a Danish group,
and their initial hook was that they were like a musical equivalent of
the Dogme filmmakers: songs could only have three chords, had to be
under a certain length, and each album was written in a specific key:
the first was in B flat minor, the second in B flat major.

Me: Thank you. Fascinating that the method extends beyond the
filmmakers vision to music! I wonder if this point of view extends
to other Danish arts, somehow? I'm guessing it must.
It seems (overstatement coming) that Lars Von Trier and the Dogme
group are adored by some and hated by others. I wonder if this group
strikes a similar chord….

 Stewart:
A lot of people hate the new album, but while I don't like it quite
as much as the last one, CHAIN GANG OF
LOVE (which is just flat-out great), I think it's entirely worthwhile.

Me: I'll add "Chain Gang of Love" to my list to seek out. Thanks.

Me: Also, has anyone see Gang Of Four? I've heard little on if they
> actually pull off the live show very well, or not.

Stewart: They haven't played Boston yet, but I've heard good things
about the
UK shows.

Me: Initially, I was so keen on FINALLY seeing them and then, after
time rolled on, I had kind of lost interest. The old feeling of "can
we really go back and capture the magic of what I missed" syndrome
set it for me). Now, I'm "better" and itching to go again but it's
very "iffy" that I will be able to per some things that have come up.
So, if anyone sees them on the list, I'd love to hear about it.
If I do manage to go, I'll give my impressions..

Best wishes, Steve D.
