Am slowly acquainting myself with some new CDs I picked up recently.

Best pick so far has been Chris Richards' "Mystery Spot" CD on the Jam
label. Upbeat crunchy power pop, but sung very sweetly. The first 4
tracks in particular are as impressive an opening salvo as I have heard
recently. It should definitely appeal to any of you guys who liked the
Eugene Edwards album, it's in a similar vein (I think overall I actually
slightly preferred the Chris Richards CD). Go check it out (that's an
order!)

I also recently bought Disappear Here by SilverSun. This is, in my
opinion, a great return to the impressive form of their debut album.

Incidentally, is it only Splitsville's first album that is going for silly
money on eBay? Their 2nd and 3rd efforts must be pretty hard to find now,
given that the label, BigDeal, no longer exists.

Bob
