Just got the Beau Brummels box set from Rhino Handmade. For those who think
that the BBs were just one hit wonders, you'll think again after hearing
this. 4 discs of *great* songs. Sure, there is a lot for the completists in
terms of demos and that type of thing, but it will really open your eyes up to
a band who I always liked, but never thought entered the great territory.
The liners are stellar by Alec Paleo (author of one of the best liners of all
time: Zombies box). The fact that he is involved should be testament enough
to how great this band was, and this box does them justice. I guess there
are only 2500 of these...this set is worth the 80 bucks.
