Thanks so much, Michael.
I wouldn't necessarily say it was Todd's best in 20 years-- his gigs with a
band have been pretty hot, and last year's Liars tour (coming out on DVD in
the summer, supposedly) was a smoker. But he's been doing this one man show
thing on and off since '81, and it was definitely the best one of those I've
seen in 20 years.
Jackson was great too. I never explored his catalog, even though I've
always liked him, but I think that is about to change. I'm probably going
to own Look Sharp and Night and Day very soon. (For me, Night and Day was
an album sort of like Norah Jones's Come Away With Me; I kept hearing it so
often when it was out, everywhere I went, that I didn't feel like I needed
my own.)
