Jason,

My opinion on anything Splitsville is completely skewed and biased, so it probably means nothing, but here goes...yes, the GBW CD's are definitely worth getting, and as stated in another post, you can't go wrong with picking them up for a few bucks. Both Rapple Dapple and Big Money Item are full of excellent tunes, and Splitsville still occasionally play Adieu and Trampoline live. Personally, I prefer RD (but just barely).

In relation to the term 'power pop', GBW certainly leans toward the latter, Splitsville toward the former. If you listen to Splitsville first, the GBW stuff may come off as a little 'light'. I enjoy stuff with more of a crunch and a harder edge, and Splitsville has this in spades compared to the GBW stuff. And the more recent Splitsville material (i.e. ‘Repeater’ onwards) is more multifaceted (in a good way).

Now, regarding Splitsville USA, I've been looking for extra copies online forever, but the prices out there have remained exorbitant. It's almost impossible to find one for less than $35. But shoot me an email offline, and maybe I can help you out.
