Hi Bruce,

Dave's a hard nut to crack, man. Been told he's sitting on literally
tons of unreleased studio stuff, he also reportedly has soundboard
copies of every damned show the band ever preformed. Maybe you can
persuade him. It would be most fitting to have the Not Lame label
tagged to any/and/or all future Neighborhoods releases. Don't have his
personal email contact but you can get in touch w/him thru his Wooly
Mammoth studios address. Give it a shot, man, can't hurt.

Heard Dave might just be thinking about something studio-wise ...dunno
though. Whether it's a compile of already released stuff or forgotten
chestnuts or new stuff all together or what. He's also been thinking
about releasing their final Rat gig that happened back in '92.

You mention the "No Place Like Home/Prettiest Girl" single on Ace Of
Hearts. P-Girl did show up on a Rhino D.I.Y. compilation, the Boston
one. There was a second AOH single ...never released back then, an
album proper was recorded actually, never released back then in
late'79/early 1980. Anyway, the single "Innocence Lost/Electricity"
was released on some Ace Of Hearts compilation a few years ago, truly
hard to connect with though ...and... it's even better than the single
that was released!

It's beyond me how his Stardarts stuff from '95, after he did his
stints w/Westerberg and The MIGHTY Velvet Crush, how that stuff never
saw light of day. They did a song, "Fire In The Hole" ...BEST song the
'hoods never did! The final Neighborhoods elpee, Last Of The Mohecans
also got lost in their major label shuffle, that never saw a release
back in '92.

It's a good sign tho, that they're at minimum playng out, Lee and Dave
w/Johnny Lynch on drums. I'll tell ya, man. They ain't lost a lick!

Bruce, if you can, drop me a line off-list.

GOD BLESS THE NEIGHBORHOODS

...and The Bags!

Mark
