It's possible. The press release for the new album makes a point of saying
that the band's primary influences are Redd Kross, T. Rex, the Archies,
and...the Dead Boys?!? I'm sorry, was that the Dead Boys, or the Backstreet
Boys? I mean, it was the latter that the band covered live ("Larger Than
Life") on their "King of the School" EP.

Oh, yeah, the press release totally trashes Hollywood Records, saying, "The
band's new disc was caught in a holding pattern by their previous, corporate
behemoth-sponsored label which apparently didn't hear
Radio-Friendly-Unit-Shifters in such power pop gems as 'Wanna Get Dead,'
'The Love Explosion,' and 'Wrong.'"
I dunno, maybe the songs will be better live, but the production on the
album is just...I dunno, it's like they're trying too hard to RAWK...
