Will, I think that sort of prenatal conditioning is essential for the
good of the next generation. I can proudly say that my daughter attended
a Cotton Mather show in utero -- my wife was about six months along at
the time, back in '98. We were only ten or fifteen feet from the stage,
so I'm sure the club's PA system was sufficient to penetrate into the
womb. And of course there has been the general background noise of pop
music, pretty much incessant from the moment of conception (well, not
the *moment* of conception, but near enough) through the present day.

It's a bit early to tell how well this has worked, but at age six my
daughter's current favorite CD is the latest Puffy AmiYumi. I take this
as a good sign.
