Mark,
Thanks for setting me straight. I had only assumed and have only
listened so far in my car on the assumption this was the case. I have to
say I did wonder why the file size seemed to be larger than I'd expect
for fixed 128 mp3.

There are almost no 128 downloads on eMusic. Mostly (probably 99.9%) VBR
MP3
files. Sound quality is the best of any of the download servicers,
although
Audiolunchbox is about the same.
