Dave,
 I had the same problem. So whjat I do is I take a regular size label
and apply it to the edge of the case. Then using an exacto knife,
I "slice" off the remaining label and apply the remaining to another
slimeline case. the labels I use, I can do 3 slimeline cases. 
 I use a fine point marker to then write the info on the label.
They do come off at times, and it can be time consuming, but it beats
having to thumb thru 100s of slimline cases.
