I know enough not to even ask what ever happened to BIG STAR SMALL WORLD,
the unanswered question I seem to ask every twelve months. But...

Heard two versions of "Holocaust" - one piano-based and lush (This Mortal
Coil, I believe) but the other a stunning and powerful 5 1/2 minute version
that sounds like Built To Spill or Chuck Prophet - you know, that guitar
oriented, Neil-Young-Down-By-The-River sound....I should know the voice and
it's driving me berserk.

Ditto a live take on "Thirteen" - although it sounds like a different
vocalist - someone is shredding guitar solos on the breaks over a
sleepy-sounding rhythm section. As the song ends, applause, then..."thank
you...okay...next...ladies and gentlemen...the unbelievable...mister steve
wynn...<fades>". I don't know if it's Gutterball or Danny&Dusty or just a
show where Steve Wynn was the next act onstage.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Beeman?
