I kinda agree here, though the whole Pop production line technique
Dante/Kim used was founded in the 50's by the major labels for their MOR
artists, perfected by Spector and Motown in the early 60's, then was
copied by Kirshner for the Monkees and Super K Productions (Buddah
Records) for thier anonymous groups.
But Dante and Kim had one hell of a run, all 4 original albums are about
filler-free as you can get, even the lesser throwaway cuts have good
hooks. And the amazing thing is most of the LP tracks run 2:15-2:30,
seems like Filmation/CBS had a tight grip of how long songs could get.
Check E-music - I think every Archies album has been available in Mp3
download form, including "This Is Love".
