Never got into the Jam.
Dug TSC for the most part.
Very much enjoy solo Weller.
Say what you will, but Weller performed one of of my top 5 concerts on the
Heavy Soul tour.
Concrete Blonde was the opener (snore). A guy in the crowd, who sounds a lot
like Stewart does when he speaks of artists he doesn't enjoy, had to play
critic by holding a picture of Jeanette Neopolwhateverthehellhernameis up
for Weller to see...
This pissed Paul off...and he tagged the guy then and there as a
poser...then he went OFF on that guitar for about 2 hours....putting many of
the folks I was told/have seen along the way were "the greats" (townsend,
clapton, Beck, Rundgren) to shame. I thought it might have just been me or
the weed...but the folks I was with (Weller virgins) all agreed that this
was some of the best showmanship/playing they'd witnessed in thier 30+ years
of concert going.
I'm not sure how such a no-talent wanker pulled it off...but he did. Maybe
it was taped like ELO?
Whatever.
As always, your mileage may vary...
