Don't know if anything has been released on video, but I do remember
seeing a laser disk of a staged "concert" of The Tubes in 1982-83.
It included songs such as "Sports Fan" and "Talk To Ya Later", as I
recall. The contents were pretty raunchy, actually. So was their
live show.
I saw them as a freshman in college when they came to our campus in
1983 ("She's a Beauty" was hitting the airwaves around that time). I
had front row tickets with 3 other guys. I really wanted to go
because The Romantics were opening. I thoroughly enjoyed The
Romantics live, but The Tubes...let's just say that the front row
was not the place to be when Fee Waybill came out wearing a spiked
leather jockstrap and nothing else. New outfit every song, before
Madonna made it fashionable. I guess it was entertaining, but I
mostly remember the evening for The Romantics.
I guess that's not the only time I went to a concert to see the
OPENING act. I once saw Eric Clapton perform because Graham Parker
was opening (although I understand most would go to see Clapton).
And I went to see Billy Idol only because Missing Persons was to
open. However, they ended up cancelling and truly lived up to their
name.

to see them when they were putting on such an elaborate stage show.
(Quay Lewd, the dancers, the costumes, the props, the semi-
nudity...!)
