OK, I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I just have to say I'm
realling loving Eugene Edwards's "My Favorite Revolution," which was
part of my latest Not Lame order. Would've been near the top of my Top
20 list for 2004 if I'd bought it last year, and if I'd done a list at all.
This was one of those that really snuck up on me. It pretty rapidly went
from "Yeah, I like this OK" to "Hey, this is actually pretty great" to
"I can't wait until this CD is over so I can play it again!" Great tunes
that sink directly into your brain so you start hearing them in your
head at unexpected times.
But I have to say, the first time I listened to it, I thought the
opening track was a song about watching my daughter eat. "She got pie on
her face / She got pie on her body ..." Took me a minute to realize I
was not hearing those lyrics correctly.
