Hello everyone,

I am teaching a class on popular music and am looking for recommendations
on books, CDs that I should have the class listen to,
and any great websites on bands, musicians, music that I can have the
students take a look at. It is my hope that the class will
help the students understand the recording industry and the recent changes
in it as well as introduce students to a lot of great
music that flies under their radar.

I am thinking of using selections from Slichter's So You Wanna be a Rock
and Roll Star and was wondering what else people
would recommend. I also have misplaced the title of the Big Star book,
can someone remind me?

Please feel free to email me off list.

Thanks much! -Art
