Well, I'm a bit older than most of you. I did see the Nitty Gritty Dirt
Band open for the Sir Douglas Quintet in the spring of 1966 and then I saw
the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band open again for the Lovin' Spoonful in the summer
of the same year...at the Golden Bear here in Huntington Beach, CA. We used
to practically live at that small club when we were kids. Nitty Gritty Dirt
Band were a jug band then....they were just starting out. Today, three of
the original members are still in the group.
