So Lee, to answer my question, you're basically saying if I lose 3 gigs of 
the 40 on my current iPod, I'd probably only lose 3 on a 60 as well?  That's 
what I'm trying to evaluate, because going to the 60 isn't out of the 
question )although I'm inclined to wait for the 80, although that 15 hour 
battery life on the 60 is enticing.)

My new Palm Pilot is a camera.  And an MP3 player.
