As a modern rock child of the 80's, REM was a cornerstone band for me
(along with The Smiths, The Cure, and U2)

And being a musician and music freak, it's hard for me to deny their
tremendous influence...as well as cache of great musical output from
1983-1989. As far as the 90's and beyond...they went downhill in a
big way IMHO.
