The first time I saw R.E.M., I went specifically to see the opener. The dB's
at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby. Wasn't sorry that I hung around for
R.E.M., but the dB's were better. Better songs and better interaction with
the crowd. They looked like they were having fun, which was perfectly
obvious even BEFORE they covered Lionel Richie's "All Night Long." Or maybe
I just liked them better 'cause I like them better. Who knows? It was great,
though.
